It depends on where you want to hang the hammock. If you are hanging it from trees, the easiest solution is to buy hammock straps. However, you can also hang them using rope and very simple rope knots. If you’re hanging your hammock inside, you may need to attach anchors (hook or eye screws) into the wall. It depends on your specific situation. We have created a detailed guide on how to hang any hammock indoors or outdoors here!
The two most common hammock materials are cotton and polyester. Cotton is natural and can be softer on the skin, but will weather faster and will mold if not dried after it becomes wet. Polyester is a synthetic material so may not be as cozy to the touch. However, it is more weather resistant and will not mold. So the answer depends on your intended use. If comfort is the priority and you will take care of your hammock, go for cotton. If you need durability even with some neglect (leaving the hammock out in the rain), then go for polyester.
This can depend on your personal preference and health, but hammocks can be a great place to sleep. For some people it is even healthier than their beds. Some hammocks are designed to stay relatively flat as well. That said, if you have serious back problems, you should consult your doctor first.
This obviously depends on the hammock. Lightweight camping hammocks usually support only 1 adult (around 250lbs), but most of the backyard hammocks on our site will hold around 400-500lbs.
